Help the Internet, Stop SOPA

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

S IconFor those of you who are not aware, there is bill being passed through congress, that is funded primarily by major networks production companies and music labels, called the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). This bill, introduced in October of 2011, in concept is a great idea that in at face would protect against theft. The only problem here is that this bill creates legal loop holes that can readily be misused to shut down competition or for other malicious reasons. Beyond that there are already two existing bills that address this issue and provide victims of piracy means for taking action, namely the PRO-IP Act of 2008 and the corresponding Senate bill, the PROTECT IP Act. Twitter Tools

Friday, November 12th, 2010

Okay, so I must admit that I am not very good at using twitter. I just have not gotten into the swing of “tweeting” about every little thing I do/think, or anything that I do/think for that matter. So this said, I found this cool WordPress plug-in that will tweet all of my posts. Thus those who follow my twitter account will be able to know when I have created a cool new post on WP.

The Word Doc Goes Live!

This site was built using WordPress as a content management system. For this project I created and implemented a custom theme to cater to the unique needs of the folks over at the Word Doc. Have a look The Word Doc!. Enjoy!

IAmCaplan Gets a Facelift

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

And not a moment too soon. Well, I have been talking about doing this for way to long and at last I have it finished…or at least I have come close as I am going to get. Since the minute I launched the IAmCaplan version 2.0, I have been talking about wanting to redesign my site. Well now I have. God only knows when it will happen again, but I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. I guess what they say is true, I truly am my worst client. I had all sorts of delays due to bugs and arduous process of redeveloping my content.

Anyway, I tip my hat to the old IAmCaplan and say hello IAmCaplan version 3.0. Seeing as the the site is brand squeaky new, there may be a few little bugs or glitches here and there. If you see anything, let me know so that I can polish it up. The new IAmCaplan comes loaded with all sorts of fun new features including: a much more contemporary design, custom jQuery, social media, some fun resources, all new content (including a case study-esque portfolio style), some new works and of course the blog is back! Oh yeah, I also stopped supporting IE6 (rest in peace old…er…friend?!?).

I hope that you enjoy the new site and I look forward to your feed back. :-)
