While traveling through Jerusalem, at the new Mamilla mall outside of the old city I saw these most remarkably alluring paintings. A playful surrealist rendition of metaphorical and faintly familiar images makes these painting fascinating to look at and I always find a sight smile brought to my lips. Painted by Israeli artist Orna Ben-Shoshan, the works have a wonderfully youthful energy and unique character. Learn more about her, view and by her work at her website http://www.ben-shoshan.com/. Sure the site is not anything spectacular, but her work is definitely worth the time. Enjoy!

Friday, June 4th, 2010IAmCaplan Gets a Facelift
Wednesday, May 19th, 2010And not a moment too soon. Well, I have been talking about doing this for way to long and at last I have it finished…or at least I have come close as I am going to get. Since the minute I launched the IAmCaplan version 2.0, I have been talking about wanting to redesign my site. Well now I have. God only knows when it will happen again, but I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. I guess what they say is true, I truly am my worst client. I had all sorts of delays due to bugs and arduous process of redeveloping my content.
Anyway, I tip my hat to the old IAmCaplan and say hello IAmCaplan version 3.0. Seeing as the the site is brand squeaky new, there may be a few little bugs or glitches here and there. If you see anything, let me know so that I can polish it up. The new IAmCaplan comes loaded with all sorts of fun new features including: a much more contemporary design, custom jQuery, social media, some fun resources, all new content (including a case study-esque portfolio style), some new works and of course the blog is back! Oh yeah, I also stopped supporting IE6 (rest in peace old…er…friend?!?).
I hope that you enjoy the new site and I look forward to your feed back. :-)
Adobe CS5
Tuesday, April 13th, 2010Being in the Graphic Design world how could I not offer my two cents about the amazing new Creative Suite from Adobe? Check out the movie clips to see exactly how these features work. I will drool a little over some of the highlights of the hotness and offer my opinion of what’s new and what’s better? (more…)
Puma’s red is turning green!
Thursday, April 8th, 2010Puma is making all sorts of effort to embrace the new Go Green mentality. In an attempt to reduce waste and break the mold, they have rethought the age old idea of the shoe box. Just think about how much paper goes into one of those boxes and stuffing those to maintain their shape. Sure this may mean a disaster area for frugal Puma shoppers at DSWs across the country, but I think that it is worth it! Plus the new “box” looks like a cute little tote that you could even use to carry groceries. Oh Puma, sigh…

What will those folks at Puma come up with next?
Saturday, March 20th, 2010So while stocking the Puma blog today, it came to my attention that Puma has come out with this incredibly sexy phone! The over all design of the phone and its interface are absolutely ridiculous and every element is designed flawlessly. Puma seemlessly integrates sporty, eco-friendly and fun into a beautiful packaging. Check out their micro site at http://www.pumaphone.com/. Made with Sagem, the Puma phone only weighs 115g. Rendering the beautiful graphics from its 2.8-inch QVGA TFT capacitive panel scren, the phone has a decent battery life, though the solar panel on the back totally throws this phone into a category of its own! The phone sports a 3.2-megapixel camera with LED flash and 6x digital zoom on the back and a forward-facing camera for VGA video conferencing on the front. I think that I am drooling on my keyboard.

Okay, so maybe it is not super practical, but it is very tasty!
