Artist Duane Keiser takes the rendering style of the Dutch still life and adds his own twist in this time lapse video titled “Peel”. By painting and repainting atop this original work, Daune “eats” this delightful looking tangerine/mandarin. From blank canvas to a beautiful still life, the artist paints though the process of the mandarin’s creation and then the pealing and its consumption until we are left with just a one savory slice. While the concept of the time lapse video is clever, what I find the most interesting is the insight into the artists technique. Certainly a fun idea, kudos.
